Dr. Honggu Kang, a graduate of the Advanced Radio Technology (ART) Lab. in the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST (Advisor: Prof. Joonhyuk Kang), has been appointed as a full-time faculty member (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Intelligence and Information Convergence at Sejong University, effective March 1, 2026.
Dr. Kang received his Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST in February 2024. Since April 2024, he has been working as a Senior Researcher at Samsung Electronics, where he has been engaged in research and development of 5G/6G mobile communication technologies.
His main research interests include federated learning and AI-based communication technologies, and he has published numerous research outcomes in internationally renowned academic journals in these fields.
Building on this research background, he plans to continue exploring the practical applicability of artificial intelligence and to make sustained academic and industrial contributions in the future.
