Dr. Haechang Lee of the Integrated Organic Electronics Laboratory (IOEL) in our department (Advisor: Prof. Seunghyup Yoo) has been appointed as a full-time faculty member in the Electronics Track, School of Mechanical and Electronics Engineering at Hansung University, effective September 1, 2026.
Dr. Lee majored in Electrical Engineering at KAIST and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), where he conducted research on flexible and stretchable electronics, pressure and tactile sensors, biomedical electronics, and wireless implantable and wearable devices. His research achievements have been published in leading journals including Nature Communications and Advanced Functional Materials.
In particular, he has focused on soft electronic devices capable of stable interfacing with skin and biological tissues, high-performance pressure sensors, and self-healing material-based wireless biosignal sensing systems. More recently, he has expanded his research toward Sensor-AI and Physical AI-based intelligent electronic systems, integrating physical and biosignals acquired from sensors with artificial intelligence.
At Hansung University, Dr. Lee plans to build upon these research experiences to pursue studies on Physical AI based on high-performance tactile sensors, AI-integrated biomedical electronic devices, flexible and stretchable electronics, and next-generation sensor systems. He also aims to foster students who can bridge electronics and artificial intelligence through Device–Sensor–AI integrated education and research, in which students acquire real-world data from electronic devices and sensors and analyze the data using artificial intelligence.
We congratulate Dr. Haechang Lee on this new chapter of his career and look forward to his future contributions at Hansung University in education, research, industry–academia collaboration, and service to society.
