The School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST https://ee.kaist.ac.kr/ invites applications for approved tenure and tenure-track faculty appointments at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level in the broadly defined field of electrical and computer engineering. Rank will be determined based on qualification and experience.
The school is interested in candidates in the following areas :
1. Machine-learning-based signal processing, computer vision and image processing, NLP, speech recognition, multimodal interaction.
3. AR/VR signal processing.
4. AI and ML theory/algorithm/systems (data mining, optimization, ML systems).
5. Computer systems and theory (OS, networking, security, mobile computing, computer architecture, big data analysis, compilers, computational theory).
6. Machine learning for communication.
7. Circuits and systems for biomedical, RF/THz and machine learning applications.
8. Photonics, quantum computing, electromagnetic/RF systems.
9. Semiconductor power devices, energy devices, devices for quantum computing, AI devices.
10. Flexible/stretchable electronics and displays, bio/medical devices.
We especially look forward to applicants in the following AI & ML fields:
All areas related to AI and Machine Learning with applications including, but not limited to, computer vision, natural language processing, signal processing and communications/networks, data mining, expert systems, security, cloud, data science, neuromorphic computing, robotics, manufacturing systems, automotive, embedded systems, AI architecture and circuits, semiconductor devices for AI.
Priority, however, will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work over any specific area of specialization.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in a closely related field before the point of appointment. However, prospective Ph.D. candidates must pass their final thesis defense within six months of the application date, and must also submit the advisor’s confirmation form. After that, the candidate must receive the Ph.D. degree before the point of appointment. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research. Financial and in-kind resources are available to pursue activities that help accelerate our efforts to achieve our equity and inclusion goals, with the full backing of the College.

The Recommendation Letters will be requested after the document examination process, during the interview and seminar phase of the evaluation process.
