The Energy industry is being transformed and shaped by the four D forces: Decarbonization, Decentralization, Digitalization, and Democratization (As defined by Gartner). These forces will transform the energy industry to begin resembling the Internet, where the request, provisioning, and transaction of energy would be tuned to the needs of the consumer and managed by them. This session would cover the transformation that is happening, the impact on business models and the role of technology as a catalyst to the transformation.
Mathew Simon leads the Customer Solution Team for Transportation, Energy, and Public-Sector customers in Nokia within the Asia Pacific-Japan (APJ) region. In the role, he and the team are responsible for leading end-to-end technical relationship with industry stakeholders and key Nokia customers. Passionate about the transformational impact of technology in our connected world, Mathew engages enterprises in enabling them to capture the value of the connected world and to operationalize the infrastructure for this new digital era. Mathew brings over 20 years of experience in leading end-to-end solution and commercial teams in the APJ market across Mission Critical Networks, Large Scale Service Providers on both Mobile and Fixed solutions, National and Rural Broadband initiatives. Mathew has a Bachelor’s of Engineering (Electronics and Communications) from University Technology Malaysia. A Malaysian at heart, he is currently based in Singapore. Prior to Nokia, he held roles with Alcatel-Lucent, Maxis Communication and Panasonic Systems.
