O Speaker: Vice President Joonhoi Hur (Samsung Electronics S.LSI/RF Development)
O Title: Introduction to RF Technologies for Mobile Solutions
O Date: 2023. 02. 15 (Wed)
O Start Time: 16:00 ~ 17:00
O Venue: Woori-byeol Conference Room, #2201 E3-2 (School of EE building)
O Abstract:
We will talk about what RF is and how the RF configuration for mobile is.
The basic blocks that make up mobile RF such as RFFE and RF Transceiver will be introduced.
Then we will discuss what to consider when we do RF design: such as noise & nonlinearity.
Joonhoi Hur received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Korea University, Seoul, Korea, in 2002.
From 2002 to 2005, he worked at WinTelecom in Seoul, Korea, where he was involved in wireless network HW/systems design.
He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
He was the recipient of the Korean government scholarship program for graduate studies.
From 2010 to 2013, he was with Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX, USA, where he was worked as RF transceiver IC design engineer.
From 2013 to 2018 he was with Qualcomm, San Diego, CA, USA, where he worked as a senior staff RF systems, RFIC, and RFFE module design engineer.
From 2018 to 2021 he was with Apple, Cupertino, CA, USA, where we managed a special RF project.
He is currently a Vice President at Samsung Electronics, Hwaseong-si, South Korea. His research interests include RF/analog IC, antenna, platform, and systems.
