Best paper award of USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation (USENIX NSDI) 2017 is
awarded to Joint work of Prof. Park Kyungsoo and Prof. Han Dongsu.
Awarded paper (mOS: A reusable networking stack for flow monitoring middleboxes) is written by Ph.D student Asim
Hamshed (advisor: Kyungsoo Park) , and also by co-authors Youngyun Moon, Donghui Kim*, Prof. Dongsu Han and
Prof. Kyungsoo Park, covers reusable network stacking and programming abstraction for implementing high functioning network middlebox.
USENIX NSDI is considered one of the most prestigious operating systems venues for network system and only 46 paper was accepted
out of 253 submitted paper to have 18.2% acceptance rate and only one paper was honored with best paper award.
This paper is first to be awarded with best paper award in Korea and in Asia except for Microsoft Research ASIA.
Only UC Berkeley, University of Washington, University of Cambridge, EPFL, Microsoft Research have been awarded so far.
Prof. Park and Prof. Han were also awarded with NSDI Community Award (Award for papers with public source code) in 2014.
