Professor Han Dongsoo’s research paper will be published on August 24 at ACM SIGCOMM, the top tier academic
society in computer networking. This paper is the only paper accepted by ACM SIGCOMM 2017 written by Korean
author. ACM SIGCOMM accepts 30-35 papers every year, and 36 of 250 papers were accepted in 2017, resulting
in a 14.4% acception rate ACM SIGCOMM has been a top conference for the last 30 years as flagship conference
of ACM Special Interest Group on Data Communication (SIGCOMM). There have been only 4 papers from Korean
institute (1st author) in 1986, 2010, 2013, 2017, all of them are from KAIST and two of them are from Prof. Han.
In this paper, authors introduced a new congestion control algorithm with bounded delay in a large data center
network, and showed its effectiveness theoretically and through large-scale simulation in a testbed using general
-purpose servers and switches

As Datacenter’s low-latency issue becomes a hot topic, this paper attracts a great deal of interest from academics
as well as companies operating large datacenter such as Google and Huawei. This study was conducted in
collaboration with Dr. Jang Gun, who is from KAIST and currently working at Google. Jo Inho, the first author of the
paper, is doing internship at Google for 6 months as a master ‘s degree in electrical and electronic engineering.
