KAIST and the Division of Electrical Engineering 'Sweeps' the Humantech Paper Awards

At the 11th Humantech Paper Awards Ceremony on 18th of last month, KAIST has won gold awards, silver awards and bronze awards for the individuals; and the division of electrical engineering won the special award for having the most awardees among departments of universities in Korea.

The division of electrical engineering of KAIST has won 3 gold awards, 4 silver awards and 3 bronze awards. The division of electrical engineering won the most awards surpassing the division of computer science of KAIST and the school of electrical engineering and computer science of Seoul National University. Also the division of electrical engineering of KAIST won the half of 6 gold awards which are the best awards in the competition in the graduate school group. This achievement made the division of electrical engineering the center of attention.

Mr. Kang, Dong-Goo (Advisor: Prof. Ra, Jong Beom), PhD student of the division of electrical engineering of KAIST won the gold award with the paper, ‘A New Path Planning Algorithm for Maximizing Visibility in Computed Tomography Colonography.’ Also PhD students, Mr. Chang, Sung-Il (Advisor: Prof. Yoon, Jun-Bo) and Mr. Jeon, Jin-Wan (Advisor: Prof. Lim, Koeng-Su) won the gold awards with the papers, ‘High-quality Versatile Microlens Arrays Using a New 3D Diffuser Lithography’ and ‘Electrostatic Digital Micromirror Device Using Interdigitated Cantilevers for Projection Display’.
