Ph.D. candidate Sung-soo Ahn (Advisor Prof. Jinwoo Shin) is accepted to NIPS 2016 with full oral presentation

Ph.D. candidate Sung-soo Ahn is accepted to world’s premier machine learning conference NIPS with full oral presentation, the first in Korea for 30 years of NIPS history (acceptance rate = 1.8%, 46 accepted papers out of over-2,500 submissions).

Ahn is also accepted to NIPS in 2015 with spotlight presentation (short oral presentation with acceptance rate = 4.5%). Looking over the past 5 years, he is the only person presenting in NIPS twice as the first author.

Over 8,000 people already registered in NIPS to be held in Barcelona, Spain in December. 568 papers are accepted including poster presentations, in which 2 are from KAIST, 1 from SNU, 1 from POSTECH, and 1 from DGIST.
