KAIST was selected for the 2019 Future Defense Artificial Intelligence Research Center. Professor Yong-Man Ro from our faculty has been assigned as the head of the center and the total period of the project is seven years. The Future Defense Artificial Intelligence Research Center is a research center commissioned to establish the foundation for securing core technologies and to induce the participation of excellent personnel for defense technology development. We look forward to building the foundation of future defense AI technology through the center.
Furthermore, Professor Hyun Myung & Yung Yi of our faculty have obtained a defense-specific research laboratory project for a clustered unmanned CPS (Cyber Physical System). Professor Hyun Myung will be in charge as the head of the project, and Professor Yung Yi takes his part as a director of the projector. The project will be carried out for six years and the total budget is 3.6 billion won.
Our faculty members are contributing to the development of Korean science and technology as well as the future of KAIST. Congratulations again to the professors who have made great achievements.
