-Abstract:
Image sensors are now everywhere. Thanks to the revolution in information processing powered by AI technology, now we are noticing a paradigm shift from traditional 2D imaging in the visible into new concepts that explore novel sensing vectors such as hyper spectral, depth sensing, SWIR imaging, etc.
In this seminar, CMOS image sensor technology is briefly introduced focusing on pixel technology which intended for color imaging.  Then we will walk through various key technologies enabling efficient information sensing beyond photography for the current and next generation imaging sensor applications.
-Speaker’s Bio:
Dr. Jiwon Lee received both MS and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, the Republic of Korea, in 2008 and 2013 respectively. From 2013 to 2018, he was a senior researcher at Samsung Electronics, Yongin, the Republic of Korea. Since 2018, he has been with IMEC, Leuven, Belgium. Currently, he is a Principal Member of Technical Staff at IMEC, being in charge of research and development of novel image sensor pixel and related integrated systems for various current and next generation image sensing applications.
