최양규 교수 연구실 박사과정 배학열 학생 (3년차)이 IEEE가 주관하는 2016 IEEE Electron Device Society (EDS) PhD Student Fellowship에 선정되었습니다.
이 Fellowship은 전 세계 IEEE EDS student member중에서 Electron Device 분야의 우수한 연구적 역량을 지닌 학생을 매년 3명씩 선발하며, 세계에서 3개의 대륙별 지역 (America, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia & Pacific) 에서 각각 한 명씩 선발합니다.
배학열 박사과정 학생은 2001년 IEEE EDS PhD Student Fellowship이 제정된 이래로 국내대학에서는 처음으로 선정되었습니다.
시상식은 올 해 2016 IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM)개최지인 San Francisco에서 개최, 관련 내용은 2016년 EDS Newsletters 10월호에 게재될 예정입니다.

Doctor Daewon Kim and Ph.D. candidate Byung-Hyun Lee (Senior researcher, Samsung Electronics) under the advisor Prof. Yang-Kyu Choi was granted the best Young Scientist group membership in 2016 Inter-Academy Seoul Science Forum (IASSF) held by the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST).
This forum, held and managed by KAST, is known to be an international gathering of scholars where invited guests including KAST representatives, Nobel Prize winners, and domestic and international outstanding scientists share their insights, new research trends, and global issues.
This year, for the first time, 100 young scientists are chosen, in a scrutiny based on thousands of research papers recently published in prominent international journals, to form an international network in science and technology, and to discuss and share their insights with outstanding scholars.
Furthermore, Doctor Daewon Kim and Ph.D. candidate Byung-Hyun Lee was granted a potential membership in Young Academy, which is being prepared by KAST for the establishment next year.
최양규 교수 연구실 김대원 박사, 이병현 박사과정 학생(삼성전자 책임 연구원)이 한국과학기술한림원 (이하 “한림원”)에서 주최하는 2016 세계과학한림원서울포럼(Inter-Academy Seoul Science Forum, IASSF)의 최우수 젊은 과학자 그룹의 멤버로 선정되었습니다.
한림원이 직접 주관하는 이 Forum은 각국의 한림원 대표단, 노벨상 수상자, 그리고 국내외 우수과학자 등 과학기술 분야의 세계적 석학들을 초청하여 글로벌 이슈에 대해서 토론하고 최신 연구 동향을 공유하는 행사로 알려져 있습니다.
금번 Forum에서는 처음으로 젊은 과학자들이 직접 참여하여 국제적 과학기술 네트워크를 형성할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 동시에 세계최고의 석학들과 직접 토론할 수 있는 자리를 마련하기 위해 최근 몇 년간 출판된 해외 저명한 저널을 대상으로 한 수천 건의 논문 중 엄격한 심사를 거쳐 최종 100인을 선발했습니다.
아울러, 김대원 박사와 이병현 박사과정은 한림원에서 내년 설립을 준비중인 “Young Academy”의 잠재적인 후보로도 선정되었습니다.

김용대 교수 연구실 석사과정 최기범 학생이 ACM의 대표적인 무선 보안 학회인 WiSec 2016 (9th ACM Conference on Security and Privacy in Wireless and Mobile Networks)에서 최우수논문상을 수상하였습니다.
이 논문은 최근 사물인터넷(IoT: Internet of Things)이 화두가 되면서 암호화를 하는 대신 custom protocol을 설계 하는 경우가 많은데, 이런 custom protocol을 자동으로 분석하여, 자동으로 parsing을 한 후에, 자동으로 spoofing packet을 생성하는 시스템입니다.
분석의 대상이 되는 무선 stack은 IEEE 802.15.4입니다. 수상한 논문의 제목은 “Dissecting Customized Protocols: Automatic Analysis for Customized Protocols based on IEEE 802.15.4″입니다.
