– Abstract: Investigating and modulating the neural circuit at the cellular level is essential for understanding brain functions and finding the cause of brain diseases. Recently developed multifunctional neural probe systems allowed precisely investigating and modulating neural activities in the brain. However, developed systems have limitations in applying neural circuit studies in animals or 3D neural culture platforms. In this presentation, I will introduce various neural probe systems to complement the limitations and apply to neural circuit studies in vivo and in vitro: (1) 2D and 3D multifunctional MEMS neural probe array for investigating and modulating neural circuits in vivo or in vitro; (2) wireless neural probe system with drug delivery capability for behavioral neuropharmacology in socially interacting animals. Additionally, I will introduce (3) an advanced neural probe system for drug screening in multiple brain organoids.
