Q. Please introduce yourself.
A. I graduated from Yonsei University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and worked in GoldStar (now LG Electronics) until I enrolled into KAIST as a master’s candidate in 1995. Under the guidance of my advisor, Professor In So Kweon, I majored in Computer Vision and after graduating with a master’s degree in Automation and Design Engineering, I founded Puloon Technology in the July of 1997 and have been working as the CEO ever since.
Q. Can you introduce Puloon Technology and the core technologies it deals with?
A. Puloon Technology was founded on July 24th in 1997 with the technical professionals who have spent about 10 years developing a proprietary CD/ATM system in the field of automated financial systems. It is a startup company that developed its own proprietary monetary bill recognition and processing devices, OMR/OCR readers, paycheck recognition and processing devices, bankbook printer, and various other core automated financial system modules by combining various technologies in Mechatronics and Computer Vision. We also have been maintaining technological independence in the railway and metro systems with our developments in AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) technology. After becoming one of the listed enterprises in KOSDAQ in 2007 we worked feverishly to dive into foreign markets and now our international export accounts for more than 50% of our sales.
