Dissertation Evaluation for the Ph.D. Program
➀ Documents for submission: Dissertation file for evaluation (PDF file) and the form “Request for the Evaluation of Dissertation for the Doctoral Degree”
A. Submission period: Before 15 days prior to the evaluation date, but by within the given period of time at the latest, which is the submission deadline for the dissertations for evaluation.
Example 1) Dissertation evaluation on Oct. 20(Mon): Submission 15 days prior to the evaluation date, by Sep. 29(Mon)
Example 2) Dissertation evaluation on Dec. 02(Tues): Submission by Oct. 31(Fri), the submission deadline for dissertations for evaluation.
B. Submission process
- Dissertation file for evaluation (PDF file): Submission to the Dissertation Committee(committee members)by the above submission period.
- Request for evaluation of Dissertation: Submission to the EE Office by the above submission period.
※After entering the required information in ‘Portal → Academic System → Graduation System → 4.Request for Dissertation Evaluation’, click on the print tab below, and submit the printed form.
※The dissertation evaluation schedules will be officially announced to EE professors and students via email, one week prior to the evaluation.
- In case of non face-to-face, reply to the zoom link information and also submit the CV, abstract of dissertation evaluation for the notice.
- Reservations for seminar rooms are made directly through the intranet by students themselves, and reservations can be made one month before the defense date.

B. Summary of the Ph. D. Dissertation Evaluation
The Chairman, and the members of the Evaluation Committee should each enter the evaluation summary on the ‘Graduation System-Thesis Management-Thesis Evaluation’ (The names of the committee members will be anonymized)
C. Request for the Dissertation Evaluation Fee [Attachment 5]: For part-time or external evaluationcommittee members (Submission to the person in charge in the EE Administration Office)
D. Additional documents to submit for students following the old system (with the journal requirement) Enter the required fields (include yourself in the co-authors list) in the Graduation System → Thesis Management → ‘6. Journal Information’ and submit the following.
➃ Submission of printed dissertations: within the given period of time
A. Printed dissertations: 2 hard bound copies and 2 soft bound copies.
※The dissertation title printed in the final copy must be identical to the dissertation titleon the Graduation System.
B. Consent for electronic dissertations: Submit the printed form after registering the electronic dissertation on the library website.

- In principle, all printed dissertations will be openly accessible. However, if there is a special reason for them to not be, please submit the form ‘Request for the Non-Disclosure of the Printed Dissertations’ [Attachment 6] with the non- disclosure reason and period along with your printed dissertations, to the person in charge in the EE Administration Office.
