This is very meaningful for our department as the award is for Ph.D. students who have shown exceptional research results in the field of semiconductors / circuits, and since Prof. Jaehyouk Choi was previously selected as an IEEE SSCS (Solid-State Circuits Society) “Distinguished Lecturer” in March of 2020.
We send our congratulations and gratitude to the recipients and their advisors.
The IEEE SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award is an award given to selected Ph.D. candidates majoring in Solid-State Circuits by the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. A total of 20 students around the world are selected based on their academic research achievements, grades, IEEE publications, and recommendations.
Many current leading researchers in the field of Solid-State Circuits have received this award in the past 30 years, and three students (Sujin Park from Prof. Seonghwan Cho’s Lab, Juyeop Kim from Prof. Jaehyouk Choi’s Lab, and Keun-Mok Kim from Prof. Sang-Gug Lee’s Lab) from the School of Electrical Engineering have received the award this year.
Sujin Park has published 3 papers in VLSI and JSSC as a first author, and presented a total of 9 papers in international conferences and journals. She has received the grand poster award in the ISSCC Student Research Preview (SRP), and an award at the Korean Semiconductor Design Competition. In addition, she was selected as the 14 th semiconductor society scholarship recipient, and won the Rising Stars Award from IEEE SSCS Women in Circuits.
Juyeop Kim has published 2 papers in ISSCC and JSSC as a first author, and presented a total of 10 papers in international conferences and journals. He had received awards in the HumanTech Awards from Samsung, and won two awards at the Korean Semiconductor Design Competition.
