Prof. Song Chong received the 2016 Haedong Academic Award from the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS).
As an award co-sponsored by the Haedong Science and Culture Foundation and KICS to appreciate and honor the efforts to bring academic and technological advances in communication systems, the award is given to researchers with outstanding achievements in the past 10 years.
Prof. Chong received the IEEE William R. Bennett Prize twice, the most prestigious academic award in communication networks, for the study in human mobility modeling and mobile data off-loadings.
His representative 5 papers are cited more than 2,500 times, representing his impact and influence on the matters drawing international interests.
The award ceremony is to be held in Seoul Palace Hotel on December 2, 2016.
