Ph.D. student Junhyeong Park, advised by Seong-Ook Park, won the Best Student Paper Award in 2019 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP 2019) which was held from Oct 27th to 30th.
ISAP is held regularly from 1971, is intended to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on the progress of research and development in antennas, propagation, electromagnetic wave theory, and related fields as shown in the Topics. It is also an important objective of this meeting to promote mutual-interaction among participants.
In this 24th opening, ISAP 2019 was co-sponsored and co-organized by five institutes including Xidian University. Also, other prominent institutes such as IEEE and IEICE co-sponsored ISAP 2019.
In the paper “Micro-Drone Detection with FMCW Radar Based on Stationary Point Concentration Technique”, proposed Stationary Point Concentration (SPC) technique for an FMCW radar achieved the outstanding performance of detecting micro-drone with the size of a little finger.
The proposed SPC technique attenuates the phase noise of the leakage, and this leads to the reduction of the noise floor in the power spectrum. Therefore, the micro-drone at 100 m height, which was buried in the noise floor without this technique, was detected successfully.
Congratulations on the award, and we expect your future academic achievement.
