Prof. Soo-Young Lee won the ICA unsupervised learning award at the SPIE defense security sensing conferenc held in the Orlando, USA, on the Apr 7th.
Besides implicit signal seperation clearly shown as its contribution to the related area in this award, the ICA (Independent Component Analysis) is also getting the new technology of the effective feature extraction.

Dongbu IP Design Contest, Best Design Award
Ph.D students Won Young Lee and Kyu Dong Hwang (Advisor: Lee-Sup Kim) won the Best Design Award at Dongbu IP Design Contest.
Title: 5.4Gb/s Transceiver for DisplayPort version 1.2
Dongbu IP Design Contest sponsored by Dongbu Munhwa Foundation was held with IC Design Education Center (IDEC). This contest had received the papers from last April, and KAIST and POSTECH including 18 universities and 41 teams had submitted proposals for semiconductor designs.

The best thesis award 2009 was given to the Ph.D student, Jin-Woo Han (graduated in Jan 29, 2010), thanks to his advisor Yang-Kyu Choi.

At the 16th Samsung human awards, the electrical engineering department again won the special awards for winning the most awardees and submitting the most papers.
