Title: The compact size piezoelectric transformer to lower an operating voltage of plasma display devices
The team UbiKA, one of the parties in EE, won the best prize at UFC (Ubiquitous Fashionable Computer) contest 2009.
This contest organized by KAIST SDIA and KING computing was held under the name "Dynamic My Life with Wearable Computer"

What is "Korea Young Talent Award"?

* International Meeting on Information Display (IMID) is an international conference featuring the cutting-edge technologies for information display and is organized by the Korea Information Display Society (KIDS), Korea Display Industry Association(KDIA), Display Search, and the Society for Information Display (SID). IMID, which began in 2001, has rapidly grown to host more than 2,000 participants from countries worldwide.
KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) Commissioner Award in campus IP strategy universiade

Jung, Min-Wook (MS course, advisor: Shin, Young-Soo) was awarded KIPO commissioner award for the preceding development area.
The contest gropes for the problems and solutions of the preceding development. In order to scout for talented persons, it has been held since the last year.
In this year, 68 universities and 2028 candidates were participated. From the 1st report screening in May, 2nd and 3rd screening were progressed for 2 months.
There are the winners of 2009 Winter/Spring Semester URP Program Research Result Contest.
URP is an abriviation of Undergraduate Research Participation.
This program serves as the main program encouraging the undergraduate students to participate in a variety of researches with more creativity.

The Ministry of education, Science, and technology and KOSEF announced prof. Ra Jung-Woong as an awardee of the 8th Korea engineering.
The Korea engineering award is the representative award conferred to an engineer who achieved brilliant exploits in Korea. Prof. Ra’s achievements have been widely recognized such as the experimental discovery of resonant-scattering which could find the 4th tunnel from the North Korea.
